Building a custom home is a big deal and at JB Crawford Construction, we make sure you’re supported every step of the way. Our process is built on communication, transparency, and a deep respect for your vision. From initial conversations to the final walk-through, here’s what you can expect:
Step 1: Initial Consultation
We start by getting to know you. In this meeting, we’ll talk through your ideas, goals, timeline, and budget. You’ll get to know our team, and we’ll answer any questions you have about working with JB Crawford.

Step 2: Design + Planning 
We work with you to design your home whether starting from scratch or modifying a plan you already love. You’ll collaborate with our in-house design and selections team to bring your ideas to life, ensuring the space reflects your lifestyle and vision.

Step 3: Proposal + Contract
Once the design is finalized, we’ll present a detailed, fixed-price proposal that includes your selections, scope of work, and timeline. No surprises, no guesswork. After reviewing and approving everything, we’ll move forward with the contract.
Step 4: Permitting + Scheduling
We handle all necessary permits, inspections, and backend details so your build starts off smooth and compliant. While that’s in motion, we finalize your schedule, coordinate with our in-house teams, and prep the site for construction.
Step 5: Site Prep + Foundation
Our excavation crew gets to work clearing the site, setting elevations, and pouring the foundation. This phase lays the groundwork - literally - for the rest of the build and is handled by our JBC Excavation team.
Step 6: Framing + Rough-Ins 
The structure starts to take shape with framing, followed by rough plumbing, HVAC, and electrical - all completed by our in-house trades. This keeps your schedule tight and your project moving without delays or miscommunication between crews.
Step 7: Selections + Finishes
As the walls go up, your chosen finishes start coming to life - cabinetry, tile, flooring, paint, and more. Our interior design team works with you to make sure every detail aligns with your original vision.
Step 8: Final Walk-Through
Once construction is complete, we do a detailed walk-through with you to make sure everything meets your expectations. If anything needs adjusting, we take care of it quickly. You’ll also receive all warranty documentation, manuals, and maintenance tips.
Step 9: Move-In + Warranty Support
Welcome home! Even after move-in, we’re still here. Our in-house warranty team is available to handle any questions, adjustments, or service needs that may come up. We stand behind our work and want your new home to stay in top shape for years to come.
